We believe our educational resources—including handouts, guided journals, worksheets, and course frameworks (collectively, “Licensed Materials”)—should be accessible tools for community education and empowerment. This license structure is intended to reflect desire to support grassroots learning while protecting our work from commercial exploitation.
Community & non-commercial license
For: Non-profit organizations, registered 501(c)(3) charities, religious organizations, community mutual aid groups, university LGBTQ+ centers and student-led groups, and other community-led, not-for-profit initiatives.
- Fee: Low annual flat fee or donation-based. Waivers available upon request.
- Permissions: Grants the right to:
- Print, copy, and distribute Licensed Materials for direct educational use within your programs, support groups, and workshops.
- Adapt or excerpt materials for accessibility (e.g., translation, formatting for screen readers) provided Emergence Pathways is cited as the original source.
- Use materials in internal trainings for staff and volunteers.
- Restrictions: Materials may not be resold, packaged into a for-profit product or course, or used in corporate/client-facing consulting without a Commercial License.
- Attribution required: All uses must include the credit: “Adapted from materials by Emergence Pathways (emergencepathways.org).”
Standard commercial license
For: For-profit companies, corporations, private coaching/consulting practices, fee-based wellness centers, and any entity using the materials for commercial gain or employee training.
- Fee: Significant annual licensing fee, quoted on a case-by-case basis based on company size, reach, and intended use.
- Permissions: Grants the right to:
- Integrate Licensed Materials into paid employee training programs, client workshops, or internal DEI (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion) initiatives.
- Distribute copies to employees, clients, or workshop participants as part of the paid service.
- Restrictions: Materials may not be:
- Resold as a standalone product (e.g., you cannot sell our PDFs as your own).
- Used to create a derivative product (e.g., your own branded journal or online course) without a separate, negotiated Derivative Product License.
- White-labeled or presented as your own original work.
- Attribution required: Clear, visible credit to Emergence Pathways must be included on all distributed materials and in associated promotional copy.
General Terms for All Licenses
- Copyright: Emergence Pathways retains full copyright and intellectual property ownership of all Licensed Materials.
- No therapeutic claim: Licensees may not present the materials as a substitute for licensed medical or mental health therapy.
- Term & termination: Licenses are valid for one year and renewable. Emergence Pathways reserves the right to terminate any license for misuse or violation of terms.
- Inquiry process: All potential licensees must contact us to discuss their specific use case, sign a licensing agreement, and receive fee quotes before any use.
